This online, collaborative course will help you grow in the necessary attitudes, skills, and knowledge so that you can be effective in evangelism within the context of establishing healthy, relevant, multiplying churches. Participants are both newer and veteran workers, which provides both fresh ideas and wisdom that comes from years of experience.
At the end of this course, participants will have:
- Worked through the roots of any hesitancy to share the Gospel
- Developed some innovative and culturally sensitive ways to share the Gospel
- Applied a working model of contextualization to specific issues of evangelism
- Reviewed evangelistic approaches that contribute to the multiplication of churches
- Grown in appreciation of abilities and insights of their fellow workers
These learning objectives will be achieved by working through the following main topics:
- Engaging Your Neighbors
- The Gospel and Culture: Tearing Down Barriers and Building Bridges
- Examining Yourself
- The Priority of Multiplication
- Review and Release
Subtopics include:
- engaging in spiritual conversations
- exploring how the Gospel responds to shame, guilt, and fear cultures
- attitudes in sharing the Good News with others
- the role of prayer in evangelism
- determining next steps
Evangelism: Abundantly Sowing the Seed of Faith includes four weeks of daily lessons and three days for a course wrap-up. Each lesson will include an article for reading, a short video, or an activity and will conclude with a question for group discussion in an online forum. Each day will normally take 15‐45 minutes to complete. You should plan to participate in the course every day (excluding weekends) and spend about 4‐6 hours weekly engaged in the course. All the material is downloadable and useable offline (with links to videos).
Evangelism: Abundantly Sowing the Seed grows out of the World Team Church Planting and Multiplication Roadmap. The Roadmap addresses four critical components: Evangelism, Discipleship, Nurturing Community, and Multiplication. This courses focuses on the first component, which is Evangelism.
